Rare find! This is a semi-polished piece of Aerinite from Spain. Hard to find because it is rare and not commonly collected for polishing. But it is beautiful, I wish there was more on the market. This was purchased from the miner at the 2024 Tucson gem shown. Aerinite is a rare, bluish-purple inosilicate mineral. Aerinite was used as a blue pigment in Romanesque paintings in many churches in Spain, and also in some French, including the most famous of them, the Pantocrator in the church of San Clemente de Tahull. Its metaphysical properties are not as well-documented or widely known as those of more common crystals. Generally, it is associated with creativity and inspiration. It is thought to bring about spiritual revelations or insight.
